WWII Huet Paris 8x24 H/6400 Mle 1936 Military Trench Periscope Binoculars & Case

An unusual and highly collectable set of WWII Huet Paris 8x24 periscopic military binoculars, French Modèle 1936, complete with their fitted period leather carrying case and shoulder strap. These are sometimes described by collectors as jumelles périscopiques, trench binoculars, scissor binoculars or “rabbit ears”. This collectible piece of WW2 militaria is clearly marked;

The French Modèle 1936 was designed as a periscopic observation binocular, allowing the observer to view from a protected position. The H/6400 marking is documented on occupation-period examples of this pattern manufactured for German military use.

Most importantly, the original military ranging graticule remains intact and clearly visible. The graduated 40–0–40 scale can be seen particularly well, and an actual photograph taken through the eyepiece is included.

Condition & Authenticity

Good original vintage military condition with wear consistent with age and use personally sourced from a French brocante market. There are scratches, paint loss, rubbing and other age-related marks. Tan-coloured paint/material is visible beneath the green finish at some worn edges.

Both optical channels remain usable and provide a clear visible image, although the left optic has some slight clouding.

The original H/6400 graduated ranging graticule remains particularly clear. Please see the photograph taken directly through the eyepiece.

The leather case shows age-related wear. The closure catch has detached but is present and included, so could potentially be professionally/sympathetically reattached. Please examine all photographs carefully.
