Refund policy
We have a 30-day return policy for all UK orders to private consumers, (see below for B2B transactions) which means you have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return and the order must be received within 30 days of receipt. We do not accept exchanges, cancellations or returns on custom made to measure tap orders unless they are faulty and this is communicated to use within 14 days of receipt of purchase. If an item, is shipped internationally outside the EU and it is not collected or it is returned by the courier as refused/customs not paid then we will refund the original purchase price less any reasonable losses incurred by ourselves. Outward shipping is not refunded on overseas returns from Australia, USA or Canada unless the item has arrived damaged.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, unfitted and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase. In the case of taps, these must be unfitted and not have been altered in any way.
To start a return - in the first instance please contact us via Live Chat on the website or at Allthingsfrenchstore@outlook.com . We are often in France buying stock so there may not always be someone to accept a return at our usual address. In these instances we will provide an alternate address of a family member to ensure your return can be dealt with as quickly as possible even if we are not at home in the UK.
Business customers (known as B2b transactions) - we reserve the right to charge a 10% restocking fee when a purchase is made by another business or as a trade order in order to cover our losses. We cannot accept returns of made to measure or bespoke size taps unless faulty. All returns are subject to the item being returned in an unused or unfitted condition. Returns must be requested within 14 days and returned to us within 30 days or the original delivery. All the taps we sell are sold for use in domestic settings only and are guaranteed for 6 months from date of delivery. They are not suitable for commercial use and any warranty or rights under the Consumer Act and Sales of Goods Act would be void when fitted in any premises other than standard residential.
Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned;
- Perishable goods (such as food, flowers, or plants), custom products (such as special orders or personalized items
- Personal care goods (such as beauty products).
- Custom size and made to measure bespoke items - these are exempt from the Consumer Rights Act & Distance Selling Regulations.
- We do not accept returns for taps that have been fitted and used unless faulty within 14 days from receipt.
- Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns of made to measure tap orders unless faulty within 14 days of receipt.
- Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.
- If you have ordered a bespoke tap in error please contact us as soon as possible - we will accept cancellations in some cases at our discretion, but these may incur a small of 5- 10% charge to cover our costs.
- All the taps we sell are for domestic use only; they are not sold for commercial use. They are guaranteed against faults for 6 months from the day you receive your order. If you have a problem after then, we can probably help but may need to charge for the cost of spare parts needed, this is usual nominal.
- Taps are not suitable for commercial use and any warranty or rights under the Consumer Act and Sales of Goods Act would be void when fitted in any premises other than standard residential.
Orders shipped outside the UK

GPSR legislation after 13th December
Recent EU legislation for GPSR affecting all countries in the EU and NI states that items first placed on the EU or NI markets before 13th December when this became effective can no longer be posted without an excessive amount of paperwork and costs. However, most of our pieces are exempt from this legislation as they were bought preowned in France where they were first available to the markets before the December cut off date. Most of the items we sell are available at checkout to the NI & EU - please contact us if the item you want to buy is not and we will confirm whether it can be posted. We continue to ship most of our items without interruption to NI. As this is an EU regulation it does not affect UK orders or customers in the USA, Canada, Australia or any other countries outside the EU, where we continue to post.
Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.
European Union 14 day cooling off period
Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. You are responsible for any return postage charges. In the case of a damaged or faulty item, all postage charges will be included in the refund. Where the order is returned with no faults or damage eg. change of mind, wrong size ordered, the buyer pays the return postage. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
