FAQ - General
Are all your items bought in France?
All our items are bought in France. We travel frequently throughout the year, mainly buying from the North, but more recently we have been venturing further to the mid and Southern regions. Mostly we buy our stock at French brocante markets or shops but we source occasional pieces from local antique and brocante dealers.
Do you make the taps yourselves?
- We sell the basins and taps on behalf of our production partner who makes the taps, sinks and basins - Lea Gas & Heating. All the basins we sell are bought in France and up cycled in the UK; all the taps are handmade to order. Lea Gas & Heating Services is owned and run by Martin who is a qualified gas engineer and plumber. (AKA. My Husband!)
How long is the guarantee on the taps you sell?
All the taps we sell are for domestic use only; they are not sold for commercial use. They are guaranteed against faults for 6 months from the day you receive your order. If you have a problem after then, we can probably help but may need to charge for the cost of spare parts needed, this is usual nominal.
Do you have a physical shop?
We are a small business operated by just myself with my husband making and selling our taps and basins. As we spend time in France as well as the UK its not possible for us to staff a shop, all our sales are online.
I haven't heard of you before - are you new?
All Things French Store is a small business, built from a love of unique, vintage, and upcycled French treasures.
While our website has been running since 2022, our journey began over 12 years ago selling on eBay and Etsy, where we’ve built a loyal customer base and an excellent reputation.
We’re proud to have:
- Over 5,000 positive reviews on eBay
- 5★ seller status on Etsy
- 100% positive feedback on both platforms
Our website was launched to offer a wider range of items and keep prices lower than on other marketplaces. By selling directly, we cut out extra fees, meaning you get the same beautiful finds at the best possible price - always with a personal touch.
All purchases can be made securely through Shopify Payments or PayPal, giving you complete confidence at checkout.
Has the new GPSR legislation coming into affect on 13th December affected purchasing from an EU country or Ireland?
Recent changes to EU legislation under GPSR have made shipping from the UK to the EU more complex for small businesses. However, because most of our products are vintage or collectable, they are exempt from these regulations.
EU shipping is available at checkout for most items, with others available on request.
New for this year – we’re now offering DPP (Duties Pre-Paid) shipping to Ireland and select EU countries. This means that import VAT and duties are included in the price, so there are no extra charges on delivery.
If you’d like a quote for this all-inclusive option, please get in touch.
Please note: postage prices listed at checkout do not include import taxes or duties unless specifically stated as DPP.
What happens if an item arrived damaged?
We always try to package items very securely but if damage has occurred in transit then we will refund in full. We would need a couple of clear photographs of the inside and outside of the packaging as well as any damage, as we can sometimes claim for costs from the courier.
I've got a question, what is the best way to contact you?
