Vintage French Onion Soup Bowls | Porcelaine d'Auteuil Pair

A beautiful pair of vintage French Porcelaine d’Auteuil lion head onion soup bowls, from the sought-after Service Bistrot range designed by Jacques Lobjoy. Sourced directly from a traditional French brocante, these classic French bistro bowls feature warm rust-orange banding, white porcelain bodies and distinctive moulded lion head handles.

Traditionally associated with French onion soup, this style of handled soup bowl is instantly recognisable from French bistro and brasserie dining. With a generous 400ml capacity each, they are ideal for serving soupe à l'oignon, individual soups, stews and other warming dishes.

The understated white and rust-orange colourway gives them an authentic Parisian bistro feel while remaining easy to incorporate into French country, farmhouse and collected kitchen interiors.

Both bowls are in good vintage condition with no chips. There is some light underglaze crazing/crackling consistent with their age, which can be seen in the photographs.

Condition & authenticity

These are genuine vintage, pre-loved pieces rather than new reproductions. Both bowls are in good overall vintage condition with no chips. There is some light underglaze crazing/crackling associated with age, as shown in the photographs.
