A characterful vintage French brocante find, this small pressed glass ice bucket is an original piece of Préfontaines promotional barware, produced for the once-popular French table wine brand.

Believed to date from around the 1960s to early 1970s, the bucket features the Préfontaines name moulded into the glass on both sides, an attractive geometric pressed-glass design and its original metal swing handle.

Préfontaines was a major French table wine brand associated with D.M.S. (Distribution des Marques Sélectionnées), which later became part of Société des Vins de France.

At just 13cm high, this is a compact vintage ice bucket, ideal for serving ice for cocktails and individual drinks rather than chilling a full-sized bottle. Its small proportions make it ideal for a home cocktail bar, drinks trolley or vintage barware display.
