A vintage French brocante find, this original 1960s blue and white enamel number plaque features the individual number 2147. Compact at approximately 9cm x 5.5cm, it is a characterful piece of vintage French signage, ideal for an apartment door, house entrance, gatepost, garage, garden building or decorative display.
Made from traditional vitreous enamel with crisp white numerals against a deep blue background, the plaque shows the light age and wear expected from an authentic vintage piece. Its small format also makes it an interesting collectable for lovers of old French enamel signs, industrial décor, railwayana and transport memorabilia.
Sourced in France and dating from around the 1960s, its exact original use is unknown, although plaques of this style may have been used for numbering in transport, commercial & residential settings.
