This charming enamel wall-mounted hook rack is inscribed “Colliers Laisses” – French for “Collars & Leads”. Bought at a brocante in France, it is a wonderfully characterful piece of French country homeware designed for keeping a dog’s collar and lead neatly to hand.

The rectangular cream enamel plaque has traditional dark brown lettering and border detailing, complemented by three decorative ceramic knobs in blue, white and green. The central knob has a pretty fruit or olive-style motif, while the two outer knobs feature coordinating blue decoration. We cannot confirm whether the ceramic knobs are original to the enamel plaque, but together they create a particularly attractive and individual vintage piece.

Perfect mounted in a hallway, boot room, utility room or country kitchen, its compact 20 cm width makes it practical even where wall space is limited. A lovely piece for a dog-loving home and especially suited to French country, cottage and rustic interiors.
