Vintage French Rossignol School Poster – Louis XI Double-Sided History Chart

An original 1950s vintage French school poster featuring King Louis XI of France, this wonderfully evocative double-sided classroom wall chart is an authentic vintage French brocante find.

Produced by Coopération Pédagogique, Montmorillon (Vienne), associated with the well-known Editions Rossignol educational series, these large illustrated school charts were created as visual teaching aids for French classrooms during the mid-20th century. Original Rossignol examples of this size measure approximately 76 × 56cm and were designed to be viewed across a classroom.

This French history poster is numbered 23 and 24 and features a different illustration on each side:

No. 23 – Louis XI et Charles le Téméraire
King Louis XI and Charles the Bold.

No. 24 – Louis XI à Plessis lez Tours
Louis XI at Plessis-lès-Tours, his favoured royal residence.
