With wonderful decorative character, this unusual copper stirrup pump is a striking piece for a garden room, conservatory, hallway, utility room, country kitchen or rustic French-inspired interior.

Sourced in France, this vintage hand pump may have been used as an early garden sprayer or as a manual fire extinguisher. It is sold empty but is, unusually, in full working order: the end is placed into a bucket of water and the pump is operated by hand, allowing the sprayer to be directed towards plants or, historically, a fire. The copper body has attractive age, marks and a dent as expected from an older working item, while the wooden base gives stability and makes it easy to display.
