A wonderfully characterful vintage French brocante find, this original Baguépi boulangerie countertop bread display is a genuine piece of French bakery shop equipment, complete with its distinctive red Baguépi branding.
Baguépi is a French bread and flour brand established in 1989. This substantial metal display would originally have been used on a boulangerie counter to present breads and baguettes to customers.
Made from painted metal, the stand has a wonderfully recognisable French commercial look, with sweeping curved sides forming stylised baguette shapes and original Baguépi advertising panels.
The clever central shelf can be left down to create two display levels, or folded upwards to provide additional height for displaying longer baguettes. At the front is an original blackboard-painted panel where the boulanger could chalk on daily prices or product information.
Now retired from boulangerie life, it would make a fantastic and highly unusual bread storage rack in a farmhouse kitchen, but could equally be used as a shop, café or restaurant display.

Condition & authenticity
This is an authentic used French boulangerie display sourced from a French brocante market. It remains in good vintage condition with expected signs of its previous commercial life, including areas of paint loss, surface marks/scratches and general wear. These are part of its history and give the stand its genuine timeworn character rather than the appearance of a modern reproduction.
One nut has been replaced at some point during its working life.
Please study the photographs carefully as they form an important part of the condition description.
