-----------

A vintage French brocante find, this characterful Bertine lidded serving bowl has a wonderful warm amber and brown glaze typical of 1960s–1970s kitchenware.

With two practical side handles and a fitted lid, this traditional French petite soupière is a lovely piece for serving soup, stew, vegetables or side dishes. Its compact 1-litre size also makes it ideal as a decorative covered pot on open kitchen shelving, a farmhouse dresser or dining table.

The underside carries the maker's mark Bertine PL. Its rich caramel, amber and brown colouring works particularly well with rustic French farmhouse, retro and mid-century interiors.

Sourced from a traditional brocante market in France, it is a genuine vintage kitchen piece with plenty of character and remains both decorative and useful.
