This elegant vintage French Terrine du Chef lidded dish was made by Apilco of France for Porcelaine d’Auteuil, Paris, as part of the collectable Service Bistrot collection created by Jacques Lobjoy. Dating from around the 1980s, the range is known for its classic Parisian bistro styling, with distinctive warm rust-orange and black striped banding.

“Terrine du Chef” translates as “chef’s terrine”, a French culinary term for a pâté or moulded dish created according to the chef’s own recipe. This lidded porcelain dish would look beautiful in a French country kitchen, bistro-inspired dining room, farmhouse dresser or existing Porcelaine d’Auteuil collection.
