This impressive vintage French brocante find is a large framed needlepoint tapestry depicting a wonderfully traditional country scene with a horse-drawn coach, horses and figures outside an old timber-framed inn or manor house.

At 115cm (45.3") long, this is a substantial piece of vintage French wall decor designed to make an impact. The detailed needlework and panoramic proportions make it particularly suited to larger walls, above a sideboard or console, or as a focal point in a traditional living or dining room.

Its equestrian subject, period architecture and gently aged appearance work beautifully with French country, English country house, farmhouse and collected interiors.

Condition & authenticity

An authentic vintage piece sourced directly from a French brocante.

This tapestry is in fair vintage condition with age-related wear and some chipping and marks to the wooden frame. It has been stored for some time during its previous life and would benefit from a careful clean and freshen-up. There may also be a slightly musty/storage smell associated with its age and previous storage.

It has deliberately not been extensively restored or cleaned, allowing the new owner to decide how they wish to treat it. Please examine all photographs carefully for its overall condition and original vintage character.
