Known locally as a Lamala or Lammele, these distinctive lamb-shaped baking moulds have been used for generations to create the traditional Alsatian Easter sponge cake.

Made from ceramic pottery with a rich brown glazed interior, the mould separates into two halves, secured together with its original metal retaining clip.
