Genuine French Door Number 3, Traditional French Enamel House Number Signs

This is an original French enamel door number 3 sign which would add a touch of French country chic to any front door. This is a genuine vintage French vitreous enamel on steel number plaque, which has usually spent years on a front door, it will have scratches, marks and signs of a previous life; this is part of its appeal. This particular number is in a good condition so may not have been mounted for very long, if at all. This is not a new copy, this is an original thick metal genuine French number bought at a traditional brocante market in France. The bis at the end of French numbers is a little like our 3A, 3B etc, it indicates another house with the number 3 on the street. So this is equivalent to 3A in the UK. These numbers are not generally for retail sale in France, they are given out by the mayor or local council.
