Change Plate from a French Bakery, French Bread Ceramic Trinket Dish, Small Hallway Key Pot,

This SMALL 9cm ceramic trinket dish, originally a change plate from a boulangerie, features a pale brown glaze with an embossed image of French bread and the words Le Bon Pain de France. These were not produced for retail sale. They have the logo of corn which is for the company Le Bon Pain de France Qualité Culinaire. They are a  well-known company in the Troyenne area, who manufacture a range of bakery, Viennese pastry and delicatessen products. for international retailers, supermarkets, restaurants and local private individuals. The same ceramics company makes items for a bank which were given when customers hit a savings goal, similar to NatWest piggy banks. As such, these are likely to have been a promotional item given to French boulangeries who stocked their products. They were never made to be sold. We believe that these are the small change plate on traditional French bakery counters where the change in coins are placed for the customer to take after they have paid. They could now be used as a trinket or key dish on a hallway table, as a ring pot, a soap dish..the list is endless!  We have 3 of these, price is for one. This is listed as used, as it is not in a box and we are not sure of the age but it is in a new condition, these will have been surplus stock at the end of the promotion or incentive scheme.
