A beautiful antique French cast iron umbrella stand by Henry Scellier of Voujeaucourt, France, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century. This authentic vintage French brocante find features ornate Art Nouveau style detailing, an elegant central column and two decorative shell-shaped drip trays.

Finished in aged green paint with contrasting white shell decoration, this charming French umbrella and walking stick holder has a wonderfully rustic, shabby chic appearance. A distinctive piece of antique French home décor, perfect for adding period character to a hallway, entrance or country cottage.

Condition & Authenticity

Authentic antique French cast iron umbrella stand bearing the Henry Scellier manufacturer's marking on the underside. The stand has been repainted at some point in its history in green with contrasting white detailing to the shell-shaped base. The paintwork is fairly rustic and uneven in places, adding to its shabby chic character.

There are areas of surface rust, marks and general wear consistent with age and use. The stand separates into two sections, and the connecting bolt appears to have been replaced at some point in its history.
