This is a set of 4 charming French vintage ceramic escargot plates, each finished with a brown glaze and the makers stamp on the base. Each plate holds 6 escargots (snails). Although these are made for snails, they are often used for buffets, devilled eggs, garlic or stuffed mushrooms or quails eggs.

These are wonderful for entertaining or for adding rustic charm to a French country kitchen. They are in a good used condition with some crackling to the glaze a nibble here and there - all part of the rustic charm, a nod to their authentic history.
