This is a beautiful single (one) vintage style copper and brass tap, handmade and water pressure tested. This is a very small tap head, ideally suitable for a small basin perhaps in a cloakroom or camper van. (the head on its own is 7.5cm in height and 5cm projection). This tap has an industrial feel with copper pipework and a brass tap head, comes supplied with 3 fitting screws and would look fabulous with any smaller basin or sink or alongside the French copper bathroom/kitchen basin sinks in the 'Copper Sinks & Taps' section of our online shop. All the taps we sell are rustic in design and do not have aerators, so the flow of water is a continuous stream similar to that of an outdoor tap.

FITTING: This tap is fixed by screws from the top, not from a nut underneath, it may not be suitable for a quartz, granite, marble or slate top; this is suitable for wooden and laminate worktops. Please check with your fitter or message for advice before buying if you are unsure. This handmade tap has a nicely polished finish. If you prefer the more natural patina of copper and brass then this can be achieved by leaving the tap unpolished, over time it will darken to the natural brown copper colour. This is a small tap with 15mm standard UK fittings which is suitable for bathroom basins, small kitchen sinks and camper van conversions but may not be suitable for baths due to its small size. In addition, most baths have a different size pipe connection; check with your plumber first if this is intended for a bath and check the measurements. This is a made to measure tap, please check your measurements carefully before buying as custom size taps cannot usually be returned.                                                                                                  Delivery: All our taps are handmade to order so dispatch time can vary as we travel between the UK and France regularly, please check the estimated delivery date at checkout for details. This is usually 3- 5 days but can be up to between 15 working days if we are away. If these are urgent please contact us before buying.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can I buy this tap as a pair?
-Yes you can, please see listing

https://allthingsfrenchstore.com/products/made-to-measure-vintage-style-brass-and-copper-taps

These measurements are not suitable for me, can the tap be made to my own measurements?
-This tap can be made to measure within the limits of the measurements from the drop down menu. Please check the tap section of our shop for larger taps with a wider range of available sizes.

Can this be used as a monobloc mixer tap?
-No, this tap cannot be a mixer tap. It can be either hot or cold but is a single feed so cannot be used as both.

Do you sell any other style of copper and brass taps?
-Yes we do. See the 'Copper Sinks & Taps' section of our online shop where you will find 4 or 5 different styles as well as a beautiful mixer tap in copper and brass.

What size is this tap?
-This tap has a small tap head, best suited to a smaller basin or sink, it may be too small for some kitchen sinks, see measurements on the photographs for exact sizes.

The tap head is too small for my requirements, do you sell a chunkier tap?
-Yes we do, this tap is made from a dainty small tap head with 15mm copper pipework, we sell other taps in both 1/2 inch size and a chunkier 3/4 inch size which have thicker 22mm pipe rather than the standard 15mm as well as 2 other slightly larger styles. See the 'Copper Sinks & Taps' section of our online shop.

What size is the water inlet pipework for this tap?
-All our taps have the standard 15mm water inlet pipework, this is the pipe below the countertop where the water is connected.

Can this tap be fitted directly into a basin or sink?
-No, this tap does not fit into basin or sink pre cast holes. This is designed to fit onto a countertop. This is fitted by screwing the brass base into the top of the counter from above using the screws provided. This is not fitted using a back nut.

Is this tap suitable for a bath?
-This tap will be suitable for some baths, although this style is generally sold for basins and sinks firstly because the tap is too small for a bath and secondly as it has a water inlet pipe which is 15mm. Some baths, particularly in older houses have a water inlet pipe of 22mm. Please check with your plumber or fitter if you are unsure of your pipe size if you are buying for a bath.

Can this tap be fitted to a quartz, slate or marble type counter top?
-No, it cannot be fitted to this type of worktop as it is fitted from above and these type of countertops would not take the 3 small drill holes required. We are looking to develop a tap for these types of counters but this is still in the design stage.

Can this be fitted in a camper van?
-Yes this can be fitted in a camper van, we have sold many of these for camper van and horse box conversions. Camper van pipework is usually smaller than standard 15mm so you will need to use a reducing fitting to join this to the inlet pipe. These are readily available at any plumbers or DIY merchant.

Can I use this as an outdoor tap?
-Yes, this tap is suitable for outdoor use.

How do I connect this to my water inlet under my sink or basin?
-This is sold as a complete tap fitting which has the standard UK 15mm copper pipe attached below the counter where it is fitted. Your water inlet pipe can be attached to the tail end by soldering, compression fittings or push fit fitments.

How often will I need to polish my tap to keep it shiny and what should I use?
- Copper and brass are metals that naturally tarnish over time if left unpolished. A quick buff up every week or 2 will keep it shiny. We use Brasso wadding to keep our taps shiny. This is available at most supermarkets. Rub some wadding over the taps, let it dry for 15 minutes and buff it off with a yellow duster. If you would prefer the more rustic natural brown patina of copper then leave them unpolished and this colour will develop over time.

When will my order arrive?
-All our taps are made to order with a usual dispatch time of 3-5 days. However, this can occasionally vary as we travel between the UK and France regularly between April-October. Please check the listing for an up-to-date delivery estimate. Contact us through our online contact form or live chat messages before buying if your order is urgent as these can also often be sent earlier especially when we are home in the Winter full time. All our taps are posted by Royal Mail Tracked 48 or 24 if urgent.

I have another question or I need some more advice about what tap to buy, can you help?
-Yes we can. These are made by Martin, our production partner, who is a gas engineer and plumber. He is more than happy to answer questions regarding tap size, style and fitting. As we are out of the country frequently or in a noisy workshop where we cant always hear the phone, the best and quickest way to contact us is via the website Live Chat. This is not a chat bot, it is either Martin or Louise. Alternatively you can use the website contact form or leave a message on our answering machine and we will give you a call back.
