Vintage Salt Cellar, Traditional Ceramic Sel Pot, Salt Pig Wooden Lid (C23)

This is a traditional French salt crock also known as a salt pig or salt cellar which can be wall mounted or freestanding. This vintage French sel (salt) box has a lovely shabby chic feel and would look great in any French style, country style, farmhouse or vintage inspired kitchen. It is china/porcelain with a wooden lid, was originally manufactured in Czechoslovakia, with a stamp on the base. It is in a good used condition as shown and likely dates from the 1960s/70s by the style but it could be a little later. This is a French brocante find bought at a traditional market in the north of France, as is all our stock and will have signs of a previous life, as such, if you are looking for brand new, then this may not be for you.
