A beautiful vintage French brocante find, this petite frosted glass tulip-shaped lampshade has an elegant decorative design with raised draped detailing, ribbed sections and a pretty flared, ruffled edge.

The glass has a slightly grey appearance when unlit, while the frosted effect becomes much more apparent when the shade is illuminated, creating a lovely soft and diffused glow.

Its small proportions make this a particularly charming choice for a smaller pendant light, bedside area, reading corner, hallway, kitchen nook or above a small side table. At just 13cm high and 15cm at its widest point, it is deliberately petite rather than a large statement shade — approximately the size of a standard fizzy drinks can.

The shade has a traditional new brass gallery designed to fit a standard UK bulb holder. A brass UK B22 bayonet bulb holder and vintage-style twisted brown or black wiring can be purchased additionally as optional extras, allowing the shade to be styled as a complete pendant light.

Condition & authenticity

This is an authentic vintage glass shade sourced from a traditional French brocante market. As with all genuine vintage pieces, it may show minor signs of age and previous use; there is a little black dot within the glass, a flaw from the manufacturing process. The photographs form part of the description and show the shade in detail.

The brass gallery/collar and any bulb holder or textile-covered wire supplied as the selected option are separate fitting components and are not vintage.
