Custom Size Made to Order Traditional Vintage Style Brass and Copper Tall Pillar Taps (T39)
Custom Size Made to Order Traditional Vintage Style Brass and Copper Tall Pillar Taps (T39)
This is a beautiful pair of made to measure vintage style copper and brass taps, handmade and water pressure tested. These vintage style taps have copper pipework and brass tap heads. These come supplied with 6 fitting screws and would look fabulous alongside the French copper bathroom/kitchen basin sinks in our website shop. This would be too small for a kitchen sink or a Belfast style sink.
PLEASE NOTE: This is quite a small tap head, ideally suitable for a small basin perhaps in a cloakroom or camper van. (the head on its own is 7.5cm in height and 5cm projection). They have been well made and have a nicely polished finish and are 15mm standard UK fitment which are suitable for bathroom basins, kitchen sinks, outdoor sinks, camper van and shepherds hut conversions. All the taps we sell are rustic in design and do not have aerators so the flow of water is a continuous stream similar to that of an outdoor tap.
FITTING- As these taps are fixed by screws from the top, not from a nut underneath, they may not be suitable for a quartz/granite top; these are suitable for wooden and laminate worktops. Please check with your fitter or message for advice before buying if you are unsure., See website for our online vintage shop selling over 300 unique, vintage and up cycled French brocante finds for your home and garden including a wide range of tap styles as well as copper basins and sinks.
DELIVERY: All our taps are handmade to order so dispatch time can vary as we travel between the UK and France regularly, please check the estimated delivery date at checkout for details. This is usually 3- 5 days but can be up to between 15 working days if we are away. If these are urgent please contact us before buying.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can I buy just one of these taps?
-Yes, for a single tap please see listing single pillar tap
I would like to buy more than the number of taps listed as available. Do you have any more than the listing shows?
-Yes we do. We limit the number of taps on each listing in order to keep to our dispatch times but we do have at least 6 of each style of tap ready to make. Please contact us if you want to buy more than the number available and we will increase the listing.
If the taps are unsuitable, can I return them for a refund?
-This specific listing is for custom size made to measure taps which are made specifically to your own measurements therefore they are generally not refundable. However, if you are having a problem with suitability please feel free to contact us and we will always do our best to help resolve any problems or give advice before buying.
The measurements available are not suitable for me, can the taps be made any taller?
-These taps cannot be made any taller as the 15mm copper pipework would not be strong enough. However, we have another style of taps which have 22mm copper pipework meaning they can be made taller. See the Tap section of our website shop
Do you sell any other style of copper and brass taps?
-Yes we do. See the 'sellers other listings' where you will find 4 or 5 different styles including single and pairs of pillar taps, more wall mounted taps as well as a beautiful mixer tap in copper and brass.
What size are these taps?
-Please see measurements on the photographs in the listing for exact sizes.
What size is the water inlet pipework for these taps?
-All our taps have the standard 15mm water inlet pipework, this is the pipe below the countertop where the water is connected.
Can these taps be fitted directly into a basin or sink?
-No, these taps do not fit into basin or sink pre cast holes. They are designed to fit onto a countertop. These are fitted by screwing the brass base into the top of the counter from above using the screws provided. These are not fitted using a back nut.
Are these taps suitable for a bath?
-These taps will be too small for baths.
Can these be fitted in a shepherds hut?
-Yes these can be fitted in a shepherds hut, we have sold many of these for camper vans, shepherds huts and horse box conversions. NB. Camper van pipework is usually smaller than standard 15mm so you will need to use a reducing fitting to join this to the inlet pipe. These are readily available at any plumbers or DIY merchant.
Can I use these as outdoor taps?
-Yes, these taps are suitable for outdoor use.
How do I connect these to my water inlet?
- These are sold as complete tap fittings which have the standard UK 15mm copper pipe attached below the counter where they are fitted. Your water inlet pipe can be attached to the tail ends by soldering, compression fittings or push fit fitments.
Can these taps be fitted to a quartz, slate or marble type counter top?
-No, they cannot be fitted to this type of worktop as they are fitted from above and these type of countertops would not take the 6 small drill holes required. We are looking to develop a tap for these types of counters but this is still in
the design stage.
How often will I need to polish my taps to keep them shiny and what should I use?
- Copper and brass are metals that naturally tarnish over time if left unpolished. A quick buff up every week or 2 will keep it shiny. We use Brasso wadding to keep our taps shiny. This is available at most supermarkets. Rub some wadding over the taps, let it dry for 15 minutes and buff it off with a yellow duster. If you would prefer the more rustic natural brown patina of copper then leave them unpolished and this colour will develop over time.
When will my order arrive?
-All our taps are made to order with a usual dispatch time of 3-5 days. However, this can occasionally vary as we travel between the UK and France regularly between April-October. Please check the listing for an up-to-date delivery estimate. Contact us before buying if your order is urgent as these can also often be sent earlier especially when we are home in the Winter full time. All our taps are posted by Royal Mail Tracked 48 or 24 if urgent.
I have another question or I need some more advice about what tap to buy, can you help?
-Yes we can. These are made by Martin, our production partner, who is a gas engineer and plumber. He is more than happy to answer questions regarding tap size, style and fitting. As we are out of the country frequently or in a noisy workshop where we cant always hear the phone, the best and quickest way to contact us is via the website Live Chat. This is not a chat bot, it is either Martin or Louise. Alternatively you can use the website contact form or leave a message on our answering machine and we will give you a call back.
