French Vintage Escargots Snail Plates, Stuffed Mushroom Dish, Emile Henry

This is a pair of vintage Emile Henry escargots serving dishes with a handle and the makers stamp on the base of each one; this is hard to see on the photos but it is there and is more obvious in reality. Each of these vintage snail plates is made from a light brown colour ceramic stoneware with a orangey brown interior and holds 6 escargots (snails). The indentations keep the snails from falling out or shifting too much in the dish. They also ensure that all the seasoning and juices remain in the indentations. Whilst these could still be used for serving cooked snails, they would also be ideal for serving stuffed mushrooms or for quails egg dishes. These were purchased at a traditional French brocante market and would suit a retro style kitchen, farmhouse kitchen or would be great in a French restaurant or bistro. These are in a good used condition as shown in the pictures which form part of the description. 
All the items we sell are used or vintage and will show signs of a previous life. This is part of their unique French shabby chic appeal.
