6 French La Raclette Plates & Serving Platter, Vintage French Tableware (B58)

This is a complete set of 6 French raclette plates and a matching larger serving platter decorated and labelled for 3 different styles of raclette. The large platter is an interesting shape and depicts a traditional raclette meal, the smaller square plates have rounded corners and are 3 different designs, 2 of each; Raclette traditionelle, Raclette du Pays and Raclette du Savoie.  These were bought at a traditional French brocante market and are in a good used condition with no cracks or chips, just a little mark on one as shown (this will be a drip of the paint from the printing process - not a chip or crack). What is raclette you might ask? Raclette is a dish of Swiss origin, also popular in the other Alpine countries (France, Italy, Germany, Austria), based on heating cheese and scraping off the melted part, then typically served with boiled potatoes.
Raclette is also served as street food on Christmas markets, but often with bread instead of potatoes. You can now buy raclette machines to use at home and these are widely used at kitchens in France. They have little trays for the cheese and a hot plate on the top to cook any accompanying meats and vegetables. This charming plate set would add a French flair to any home. These are probably around 10-15 years old.
