❓Questions? See our most FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS section below
❓FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS❓
Are your taps suitable for use in a commercial setting?
- All the taps we sell are designed for use in a domestic setting only, either indoor or outdoor. They are not sold as suitable for commercial premises.
Can I buy just one of these taps?
-Yes, for a single tap please see the following listing - Single Bespoke Tap
I would like to buy more than the number of taps listed as available. Do you have any more than the listing shows?
- Yes, we usually have 3 pairs available at any one time, if you require more, or the listing is showing less than you need, please message and we will add some more..
If the taps are unsuitable, can I return them for a refund?
-This specific listing is for a custom size made to measure pair which are made specifically to your own measurements therefore they are generally not refundable. This pair of taps are bespoke size & made to your own specific measurements - Bespoke items are exempt from The Consumer Act 2015 and Distance Selling Regulations and cannot be returned if you have mis-measured or they are unsuitable.
The measurements available are not suitable for me, can the taps be made any taller?
-These taps can be made up to 40cm on the following listing - XL Copper and Brass Kitchen Taps
Do you sell any other style of copper and brass taps?
-Yes we do. See our website shop where you will find over 20 different styles including single and pairs of pillar taps, more wall mounted taps as well as a beautiful mixer tap in copper and brass.
What size are these taps?
-Please see measurements on the photographs in the listing for exact sizes.
What size is the water inlet pipework for these taps?
-All our taps have the standard 15mm water inlet pipework, this is the pipe below the countertop where the water is connected. Whilst these have exposed 22mm pipework, the inlet is still 15mm.
Can these taps be fitted directly into a basin or sink?
-No, these taps do not fit into basin or sink pre cast holes. They are designed to fit onto a countertop. These are fitted by screwing the brass base into the top of the counter from above using the screws provided. These are not fitted using a back nut.
Are these taps suitable for a bath?
-These taps will be suitable for some baths, although this style is generally sold for basins and sinks as it has a water inlet pipe which is a 15mm diameter. Some baths, particularly in older houses have a water inlet pipe of 22mm. Please check with your plumber or fitter if you are unsure of your pipe size if you are buying for a bath, or message us for advice.
Can these be fitted in a shepherds hut?
-Yes these can be fitted in a shepherds hut, we have sold many of these for camper vans, shepherds huts and horse box conversions. NB. Camper van pipework is usually smaller than standard 15mm so you will need to use a reducing fitting to join this to the inlet pipe. These are readily available at any plumbers or DIY merchant.
Can I use these as outdoor taps?
-Yes, these taps are suitable for outdoor use.
How do I connect these to my water inlet?
- These are sold as complete tap fittings which have the standard UK 15mm copper pipe attached below the counter where they are fitted. Your water inlet pipe can be attached to the tail ends by soldering, compression fittings or push fit fitments.
Can these taps be fitted to a quartz, slate, concrete or marble type counter top?
- We would not recommend these for this type of worktop as they are fitted from above with screws not from a back nut underneath and these type of countertops may not take the 6 small drill holes required. They are only recommended for wooden or laminate worktops. We are looking to develop a tap for these types of counters but this is still in the design stage.
How often will I need to polish my taps to keep them shiny and what should I use?
- Copper and brass are metals that naturally tarnish over time if left unpolished. A quick buff up every week or 2 will keep it shiny. We use Brasso wadding to keep our taps shiny. This is available at most supermarkets. Rub some wadding over the taps, let it dry for 15 minutes and buff it off with a yellow duster. If you would prefer the more rustic natural brown patina of copper then leave them unpolished and this colour will develop over time.
When will my order arrive?
-All our taps are made to order with a usual dispatch time of 5 working days after purchase. Please check the listing for an up-to-date delivery estimate. Contact us before buying if your order is urgent and we will always do our best to accommodate . All our taps are posted by Royal Mail Tracked 48.
I have another question or I need some more advice about what tap to buy, can you help?
-Yes we can. These are made by Martin who is a gas engineer and plumber. He is more than happy to answer questions regarding tap size, style and fitting. Please message us via live chat or using the online form
