Projection

This is a beautiful single (one) vintage style copper and brass, wall mounted tap, hand made, water pressure tested and made to measure to your requirements. This is a solid brass tap head with a detachable nozzle. This tap has an industrial rustic feel with copper pipework, a brass tap head and it comes supplied with 3 fitting screws; this would look fabulous with any basin or sink or alongside the French copper bathroom/kitchen basin sinks in our website shop. All the taps we sell are rustic in design and do not have aerators, so the flow of water is a continuous stream similar to that of an outdoor tap.
FITTING: All our wall mounted taps are fitted by screwing onto the front of the wall, these do not come apart, they are a sold as a complete soldered unit and you will need full access to the pipes behind your wall to fit these as they do not come apart, so please be sure you can fit this to the wall in this way or check with your plumber or ourselves before buying. This hand made tap has a nicely polished finish. If you prefer the more natural patina of copper and brass then this can be achieved by leaving the tap unpolished, over time it will darken to the natural brown copper colour. This is a 1/2 inch tap head made with 15mm standard UK fittings which is suitable for bathroom basins, kitchen sinks and camper van conversions but may not be suitable for baths as most baths have a different size pipe connection; check with your plumber first if this is intended for a bath and check the measurements.
DISPATCH TIME: can vary as we travel between the UK and France regularly from March-November. This is usually 3-5 working days but can occasionally be longer if we are away. Please check the listing for an up-to-date delivery estimate. Contact us through Etsy messages before buying if your order is urgent as these can often be sent earlier especially between Nov-March when we are in the UK full time. See our website vintage shop selling over 300 unique, vintage and up cycled French brocante finds for your home and garden including a wide selection of tap styles as well as copper basins and sinks up cycled from French copper jam pans and bowls. NB: Made to measure custom orders from this listing cannot be returned as they have been made just for your own specific requirements and are not a stock item

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

If I order the wrong size can I return this?
-As this is a custom made listing, made to your own requirements and not a stock size, this cannot be returned so please be sure to measure this carefully before ordering and feel free to message for advice.

Can I buy this as a pair?
-Yes, for a pair please see the following item - Pair of wall mounted taps

These measurements available are not suitable for me, can the tap be made any longer?
-This tap cannot be made any longer as the 15mm copper pipework would not be strong enough. However, we have another style of tap which has 22mm copper pipework meaning it can be made up to 32cm projection. See the following item Taps to 32cm

Do you sell any other style of copper and brass taps?
-Yes we do. See the Copper, basins and Taps section of our website shop where you will find 4 or 5 different styles including single and pairs of pillar taps, more wall mounted taps as well as a beautiful mixer tap in copper and brass.

What size is this tap?
-Please see measurements on the photographs in the listing for exact sizes.

What size is the water inlet pipework for this tap?
-All our taps have the standard 15mm water inlet pipework, this is the pipe below the countertop where the water is connected.

Can this tap be fitted directly into a basin or sink?
-No, this tap does not fit into basin or sink pre cast holes. This is designed to fit into a wall. This is fitted by screwing the brass base into the wall using the screws provided. This is not fitted using a back nut.

Is this tap suitable for a bath?
-This tap will be suitable for some baths, although this style is generally sold for basins and sinks as it has a water inlet pipe which is a 15mm diameter. Some baths, particularly in older houses have a water inlet pipe of 22mm. Please check with your plumber or fitter if you are unsure of your pipe size if you are buying for a bath, or message us for advice.

Can this be fitted in a shepherds hut?
-Yes this can be fitted in a shepherds hut, we have sold many of these for camper vans, shepherds huts and horse box conversions. NB. Camper van pipework is usually smaller than standard 15mm so you will need to use a reducing fitting to join this to the inlet pipe. These are readily available at any plumbers or DIY merchant.

Can I use this as an outdoor tap?
-Yes, this tap is suitable for outdoor use.

How do I connect this to my water inlet?
- All our wall mounted taps are fitted by screwing onto the front of the wall, these do not come apart, they are a sold as a complete soldered unit and you will need full access to the pipes behind your wall to fit these as they do not come apart, so please be sure you can fit this to the wall in this way or check with your plumber or ourselves before buying. Your water inlet pipe can be attached to the tail end by soldering, compression fittings or push fit fitments.

Can this tap be fitted as a direct replacement for my existing wall mounted tap?
- Probably not. This tap is made to be fitted from the front on walls where existing access behind is available, this is usually where a house is having a refit or a new build rather than as a direct swap. This is designed and supplied as a complete unit already soldered together, as such it can only be fitted from the front of the wall. This means that to connect your water supply you will need full access to the wall behind where the tap is to be fitted. This unit does not come apart and it cannot be fitted to copper pipe protruding from an existing wall. The water inlet pipe must be connected behind the wall. Please check with your fitter or message for advice before buying if you are unsure.

How often will I need to polish my tap to keep it shiny and what should I use?
- Copper and brass are metals that naturally tarnish over time if left unpolished. A quick buff up every week or 2 will keep it shiny. We use Brasso wadding to keep our taps shiny. This is available at most supermarkets. Rub some wadding over the taps, let it dry for 15 minutes and buff it off with a yellow duster. If you would prefer the more rustic natural brown patina of copper then leave them unpolished and this colour will develop over time.

When will my order arrive?
-All our taps are made to order with a usual dispatch time of 3-5 days. However, this can occasionally vary as we travel between the UK and France regularly between April-October. Please check the listing for an up-to-date delivery estimate. Contact us via the online contact form or live chat before buying if your order is urgent as these can also often be sent earlier especially when we are home in the Winter full time. All our taps are posted by Royal Mail Tracked 48 or 24 if urgent.

I have another question or I need some more advice about what tap to buy, can you help?
-Yes we can. These are made by Martin, our production partner, who is a gas engineer and plumber. He is more than happy to answer questions regarding tap size, style and fitting. Please contact us using the online contact form or via live chat
