Copper and Brass Handmade Kitchen Mixer Taps, Belfast Sink Taps
Copper and Brass Handmade Kitchen Mixer Taps, Belfast Sink Taps
This is a beautiful set of fully polished copper and brass mixer taps, hand made and water pressure tested. These copper mixer taps come supplied with 6 fitting screws and are made to a standard UK pipe centres measurements. These would look fabulous with any Belfast sink or alongside the French copper and brass bathroom/kitchen basin sinks in our website shop. These have been well made and have a nicely polished finish to all the fitments, unlike some other cheaper versions where the brass tap sections are rough cast. These are not factory made, they are handmade to order and as copper is a soft metal it can be easily moulded by the bending equipment. This can cause little indents these are characteristics of a handmade product, not flaws. The outlet is fixed and does not swivel meaning it has a sturdy feel. The brass taps are of compression fittings and can be fitted either to the front or to the side if wished. This will come partly dismantled for postage, which will be easy to reassemble. You will only need a spanner to tighten the joints. Check out the tap shop for a range of different styles of taps including single taps and a range of copper basins and sinks. All the taps we sell are rustic in design and do not have aerators so the flow of water is a continuous stream similar to that of an outdoor tap.
🚰 FITTING: As these are fixed and secured by screws into the top, not from a back nut underneath, they are not recommended for a quartz, marble, slate or granite top. These are recommended for wooden and laminate worktops ONLY. Please check with your fitter or message for advice before buying if you are unsure. These have been well made and has a nicely polished finish, they are supplied in one piece not in separate pieces and do not come apart. ❓FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS❓
Do these taps swivel?
-No these taps do not swivel, they are fixed.
These measurements are not suitable for me, can these be made to my own measurements?
-Yes, these taps can be made to measure at no extra cost. Please contact us for details
Do you sell any other style of copper and brass taps?
-Yes we do. See the copper Basins and Taps section of our website where you will find 4 or 5 different styles including pillar taps and wall mounted taps.
What size are these taps?
-See photos on each listing for the tap head sizes of all the taps we sell.
What size is the water inlet pipework for these taps?
-All our taps have the standard 15mm water inlet pipework, this is the pipe below the countertop where the water is connected.
Can these taps be fitted directly into a basin or sink?
-No, these taps do not fit into basin or sink pre cast holes. They are designed to fit onto a countertop. They are fitted by screwing the brass base into the top of the counter using the screws provided not from a back nut underneath.
Are these taps suitable for a bath?
-These taps will be suitable for some baths, although they are generally sold for basins and sinks as they have a water inlet pipe which is 15mm. Some baths, particularly in older houses have a water inlet pipe of 22mm. Please check with your plumber or fitter if you are unsure of your pipe size if you are buying these for a bath.
Can these taps be fitted to a quartz, slate, concrete or marble type counter top?
-We would not recommend these to be fitted to this type of worktop as they are secured by screwing holes into the surface from above not from a back nut underneath and these type of countertops may not take the small drill holes required. We recommend these for wood and laminate surfaces ONLY. We are looking to develop a tap for these types of tops but this is still in the design stage.
Can these be fitted in a camper van?
-Yes these can be fitted in a camper van, we have sold many of these for camper van and horse box conversions. Camper van pipework is usually smaller than standard 15mm so you will need to use a reducing fitting to join these to the inlet pipe. These are readily available at any plumbers or DIY merchant.
Can I use these as outdoor taps?
-Yes, these taps are suitable for outdoor use.
How do I connect these to my water inlet under my sink or basin?
-These are sold as complete tap fittings which have the standard UK 15mm copper pipe (tail ends) attached below the counter where they are fitted. Your water inlet pipe can be attached to these tail ends by soldering, compression fittings or push fit fitments.
How often will I need to polish my taps to keep them shiny and what should I use?
-Copper and brass are metals that naturally tarnish over time if left unpolished. A quick buff up every week or 2 will keep it shiny. We use Brasso wadding to keep our taps shiny. This is available at most supermarkets. Rub some wadding over the tap, let it dry for 15 minutes and buff it off with a yellow duster. If you would prefer the more rustic natural brown patina of copper then leave them unpolished and this colour will develop over time.
When will my taps arrive?
-All our taps are made to order with a usual dispatch time 5 days after purchase. Please contact us before buying if your order is urgent as these can occasionally be sent earlier depending on current demand. All our taps are posted fully tracked by either DPD or Royal Mail Tracked 48.
I have another question or I need some more advice about what tap to buy, can you help?
-Yes we can. These are made by Martin, our production partner, who is a gas engineer and plumber. He is more than happy to answer questions regarding tap size, style and fitting. We are often out of the country or in a noisy workshop so rarely hear the phone. The quickest way to contact us is through the website live chat (you will be speaking to a real person, either Martin or Louise, not a chat bot!) or our online contact form. If you would like a call back please leave your contact details. Alternatively, leave a message on our answerphone at 01772 494985 and we will call you back.
