Pair of Small Brass and Copper Traditional Style Taps, Bathroom or Cloakroom Taps (T16)
Pair of Small Brass and Copper Traditional Style Taps, Bathroom or Cloakroom Taps (T16)
This is a beautiful pair of vintage style copper and brass taps, hand made and water pressure tested. These are EXTRA SMALL TAP HEADS - see measurements below and pictures, ideally suitable for a small basin perhaps in a cloakroom or camper van. (the head on its own is 7.5cm in height and 5cm projection). These will be too small for a kitchen sink or full size bathroom basin. These have an industrial rustic feel with copper pipework and brass tap heads and come supplied with 6 fitting screws; these would look fabulous with any smaller basin or sink or alongside the French copper basin sinks in our website shop. All the taps we sell are rustic in design and do not have aerators, so the flow of water is a continuous stream similar to that of an outdoor tap.
FITTING: These are fixed by screws from the top, not from nuts underneath, as such they will not be suitable for a quartz, granite, marble or slate tops; they are suitable for wooden and laminate worktops. Please check with your fitter or message for advice before buying if you are unsure. These handmade taps have been well made and have a nicely polished finish. If you prefer the more natural patina of copper and brass then this can be achieved by leaving the taps unpolished, over time they will darken to the natural brown copper colour. These have very small tap heads with 15mm standard UK fittings which will be suitable for small bathrooms basins, small kitchen sinks, shepherds huts and camper van conversions (adaptor might be needed for camper vans). Check out the tap section of our website for unique copper basins and our full range of copper and brass taps including wall mounted and mixer taps.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can I buy just one of these taps, I don't need a pair?
-Yes you can, please see listing here
The listings says you only have one pair, do you have anymore?
-Yes we do. As we make the taps to order when they sell, we limit the numbers listed in order to keep to our published dispatch dates. if you would like more than one, please message us and we will list a larger amount.
These measurements are not suitable for me, can the taps be made to my own measurements?
-Yes, these can be made to measure at no extra cost. Please see the following listing
Do you sell any other style of copper and brass taps?
-Yes we do. See the 'Copper Basins, Sinks & Taps' section of our website shop where you will find 4 or 5 different styles as well as a beautiful mixer tap in copper and brass.
What size are these taps?
-These have a very small tap head, best suited to a smaller basin or sink, they will be too small for a kitchen sink or full size bathroom sink, see measurements on the photographs for exact sizes.
The tap head is too small for my requirements, do you sell a chunkier tap?
-Yes we do, these taps are made from dainty small tap heads with 15mm copper pipework, we sell other taps in both 1/2 inch size and a chunkier 3/4 inch size which have thicker 22mm pipe rather than the standard 15mm as well as 2 other slightly larger styles. See the Copper Basins, Sinks & Taps section of our website shop
What size is the water inlet pipework for these taps?
-All our taps have the standard 15mm water inlet pipework, this is the pipe below the countertop where the water is connected.
Can these be fitted directly into a basin or sink?
-Unfortunately not; these do not fit into basin or sink pre cast holes. They are designed to fit onto a countertop. They are fitted by screwing the brass bases into the top of a counter from above using the screws provided. They are not fitted using back nuts.
Are these suitable for a bath?
-These taps will be too small for a bath. Check out the other taps in the tap section of our website for something more suited to a bath.
Can these be fitted to a quartz, slate or marble type counter top?
-Unfortunately not; they cannot be fitted to this type of worktop as they are fitted from above and these type of countertops would not take the 6 small drill holes required. We are looking to develop a tap for these types of counters but this is still in the design stage.
Can these be fitted in a camper van?
-Yes they can be fitted in a camper van, we have sold many of these for camper van and horse box conversions. Camper van pipework is usually smaller than standard 15mm so you will need to use a reducing fitting to join this to the inlet pipe. These are readily available at any plumbers or DIY merchant.
Can I use the taps you make outside as well as inside?
-Yes, all the taps we make are suitable for outdoor use as well as indoors.
How do I connect these to my water inlet under my sink or basin?
-These are sold as complete tap units which have the standard UK 15mm copper pipe attached below the counter where they are fitted. Your water inlet pipe can be attached to the tail ends by soldering, compression fittings or push fit fitments.
How often will I need to polish my taps to keep them shiny and what should I use?
- Copper and brass are metals that naturally tarnish over time if left unpolished. A quick buff up every week or 2 will keep it shiny. We use Brasso wadding to keep our taps shiny. This is available at most supermarkets. Rub some wadding over the taps, let it dry for 15 minutes and buff it off with a yellow duster. If you would prefer the more rustic natural brown patina of copper then leave them unpolished and this colour will develop over time.
When will my order arrive?
-All our taps are made to order with a usual dispatch time of 3-5 days. However, this can occasionally vary as we travel between the UK and France regularly between April-October. Please check the listing for an up-to-date delivery estimate. Contact us via the online contact form or live chat before buying if your order is urgent as these can also often be sent earlier especially when we are home in the Winter full time. All our taps are posted by Royal Mail Tracked 48 or 24 if urgent.
I have another question or I need some more advice about what tap to buy, can you help?
-Yes we can. These are made by our partner company, Copper Basins and Taps, run by Martin who is a gas engineer and plumber. He is more than happy to answer questions regarding tap size, style and fitting. In the first instance please message us via the online contact form or live chat. We are happy to call you if you need more detailed advice, please leave you number on the online form.
