❓QUESTIONS? See our most FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS section below

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Are your taps suitable for use in a commercial setting?
- All the taps we sell are designed for use in a domestic setting only, either indoor or outdoor. They are not sold as suitable for commercial premises.

Can I buy a pair of these taps?
-Yes, for a pair please order quantity as 2 or visit the Copper & Brass Basins & Taps section of the website.

I would like to buy more than the number of taps listed as available. Do you have any more than the listing shows?
-Yes we do. We limit the number of taps on each listing in order to keep to our dispatch times but we do have at least 6 of each style of tap ready to make. Please contact us if you want to buy more than the number available and we will increase the listing.

Can this be used as a monobloc mixer tap?
-This is a single feed tap so cannot be used as a monobloc. It can be either hot or cold, but not both.

If the tap is unsuitable, can I return it for a refund?
-This specific listing is for a custom size made to measure tap which is made specifically to your own measurements therefore they are generally not refundable. However, if you are having a problem with suitability please feel free to contact us and we will always do our best to help resolve any problems or give advice before buying.

The measurements available are not suitable for me, can the taps be made any shorter?
-This tap is an extra tall tap, if you require taller than this please contact us and we will try our best to accommodate your requirements. This is available on our website with dimensions shorter than this, please see our standard custom size tap on the following link standard custom option.

Do you sell any other style of copper and brass taps?
-Yes we do. See the Copper Basins and Taps section  of our website shop where you will find over 20 different styles including single and pairs of pillar taps, more wall mounted taps as well as a beautiful mixer tap in copper and brass.

What size is this tap?
-Please see measurements on the photographs in the listing for exact sizes. This item is an extra tall tap, please measure carefully before buying or ask for advice. See the tap section of our shop for more styles and sizes at Copper and Brass Handmade Taps

What size is the water inlet pipework for this tap?
-All our taps have the standard 15mm water inlet pipework, this is the pipe below the countertop where the water is connected. Whilst this has exposed 22mm pipework, the inlet is still 15mm.

Can this tap be fitted directly into a basin or sink?
-No, this tap does not fit into basin or sink pre cast holes. This is designed to fit onto a countertop. This is fitted by screwing the brass base into the top of the counter from above using the screws provided. This is not fitted using a back nut.

Is this suitable for a bath?
-This tap will be suitable for some baths, although this style is generally sold for basins and sinks as it has a water inlet pipe which is a 15mm diameter. Some baths, particularly in older houses have a water inlet pipe of 22mm. Please check with your plumber or fitter if you are unsure of your pipe size if you are buying for a bath, or message us for advice.

Can the taps you sell be fitted in a shepherds hut?
-Yes, all out taps can be fitted in a shepherds hut, we have sold many of these for camper vans, shepherds huts and horse box conversions. NB. Camper van pipework is usually smaller than standard 15mm so you will need to use a reducing fitting to join this to the inlet pipe. These are readily available at any plumbers or DIY merchant.

Can I use your taps as outdoor taps?
-Yes, all the taps we sell are suitable for outdoor use. This tap has a 1 inch nozzle; standard Hose lock connectors may be smaller - adaptors are easily available if you wish to use this with a snap on connection.  Amazon have one here or they are available at any plumbing shop.

How do I connect this to my water inlet?
- This is sold as complete tap fitting which has the standard UK 15mm copper pipe attached below the counter where it is fitted. Your water inlet pipe can be attached to the tail end by soldering, compression fittings or push fit fitments.

Can this tap be fitted to a quartz, slate or marble type counter top?
-We only recommend this style for wood and laminate worktops. As our taps are all fitted by securing screws into the counter itself from the top, not from a back nut underneath, they may not be suitable for a quartz, concrete, granite, slate or marble top. Please check with your fitter or message for advice before buying if you are unsure.

How often will I need to polish my tap to keep it shiny and what should I use?
- Copper and brass are metals that naturally tarnish over time if left unpolished. A quick buff up every week or 2 will keep it shiny. We use Brasso wadding to keep our taps shiny. This is available at most supermarkets. Rub some wadding over the taps, let it dry for 15 minutes and buff it off with a yellow duster. If you would prefer the more rustic natural brown patina of copper then leave them unpolished and this colour will develop over time.

When will my order arrive?
-All our taps are made to order with a usual dispatch time of 3-5 working days after purchase. . Please check the listing for an up-to-date delivery estimate. Contact us via live chat or email before buying if your order is urgent as these can occasionally be sent earlier depending on current demand. This is a larger tap which is too big once boxed for RM so will be posted by Evri or Yodel.

I have another question or I need some more advice about what tap to buy, can you help?
-Yes we can. These are made by Martin who is a gas engineer and plumber. He is more than happy to answer questions regarding tap size, style and fitting. Please message us via live chat or using the online form
