Genuine French Door Number 3, Traditional French Enamel House Numbers

This is an original French enamel door number 3 which would add a touch of French country chic to any front door. This is a genuine vintage French vitreous enamel on steel number, which has usually spent years on a front door, it will have scratches, marks and signs of a previous life; this is part of its appeal. This particular number is in a good condition so may not have been mounted for very long, if at all. This is not a new copy, this is an original thick metal genuine French number bought at a traditional brocante market in France. The ter at the end of French numbers is a little like our 3A, 3B etc, it indicates another house with the number 3 on the street. Bis at the end means 3A , ter is equivalent to 3B in the UK. These numbers are not generally for retail sale in France, they are given out by the mayor or local council.
