Bespoke Made to Order Copper and Brass Handmade Pillar Tap, ideal for a Belfast sink (T12)
Bespoke Made to Order Copper and Brass Handmade Pillar Tap, ideal for a Belfast sink (T12)
This is a bespoke, made to measure single vintage style taps (1 tap) which has copper pipework and a solid brass tap head with detachable nozzle. This kitchen or bathroom tap comes supplied with 3 fitting screws and would look fabulous with any Belfast sink or alongside the French copper basin and sinks available in the Copper Sinks and Taps section of our website shop. All the taps we sell are rustic in design and do not have aerators so the flow of water is a continuous stream similar to that of an outdoor tap.
🚰FITTING: As this tap is fixed by screws from the top, not from a nut underneath, it is not suitable for a quartz, marble, slate and granite tops. it is designed for use on wooden and laminate worktops. Please check with your fitter or message for advice before buying if you are unsure or checkout out our 'Frequently Asked Questions' section below. This has been well made and has a nicely polished finish, it comes supplied as one piece not in separate pieces and does not come apart. This has a 15mm standard UK copper water inlet pipe which is suitable for bathroom basins, kitchen sinks, camper van conversions and outdoor sinks but may not be suitable for some baths which have a different size pipe connection, check before buying this for a bath.

❓FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS❓
Can I buy as a pair of these taps ?
-Yes, for a pair please see the following listing Antique Style Copper and Brass Bathroom or Kitchen Taps – All Things French Store
I need to buy more than the number of taps listed as available, do you have more stock?
-Yes we do. As we make all our taps to order we limit the number available in listings to ensure we can keep to our dispatch times. If you need more than the quantity listed, please message us and we will increase the number available to buy.
Can this be used a mono bloc or mixer tap?
- No, this cannot be used as a mixer tap, it is a single feed so can be used as either a hot tap or cold tap, not both.
If this is unsuitable, can I return it for a refund?
-This specific listing is for a custom size made to measure tap which is made specifically to your own measurements therefore it is generally not refundable. However, if you are having a problem with suitability please feel free to contact us through live chat or the online contact form and we will always do our best to help resolve any problems or give advice before buying.
The measurements available are not suitable for me, can this be made any taller?
-This tap cannot be made any taller as the 15mm copper pipework would not be strong enough. However, we have other styles of taps made of 22mm copper pipework which can be made taller - see the tap section of our website.
Do you sell any other style of copper and brass taps?
-Yes we do. See the Copper Sinks & Taps section of our website shop where you will find 4 or 5 different styles including single and pairs of pillar taps, more wall mounted taps as well as a beautiful mixer tap in copper and brass.
What size is this tap?
-Please see measurements on the photographs in the listing for exact sizes.
What size is the water inlet pipework for this tap?
-All our taps have the standard 15mm water inlet pipework, this is the pipe below the countertop where the water is connected.
Can this be fitted directly into a basin or sink pre cast holes?
-No, this tap does not fit into basin or sink pre cast holes. It is designed to fit onto a countertop. This is fitted by screwing the brass base into the top of the counter from above using the screws provided. It is not fitted using a back nut.
Is this suitable for a bath?
-This tap will be suitable for some baths, although this style is generally sold for basins and sinks as it has a water inlet pipe which is a 15mm diameter. Some baths, particularly in older houses have a water inlet pipe of 22mm. Please check with your plumber or fitter if you are unsure of your pipe size if you are buying for a bath, or message us for advice.
Can this be fitted in a shepherds hut?
-Yes this can be fitted in a shepherds hut, we have sold many of these for camper vans, shepherds huts and horse box conversions. NB. Camper van pipework is usually smaller than standard 15mm so you will need to use a reducing fitting to join this to the inlet pipe. These are readily available at any plumbers or DIY merchant.
Can I use this as an outdoor tap?
-Yes, this is suitable for outdoor use.
How do I connect this to my water inlet?
- This is sold as a complete tap fitting which has the standard UK 15mm copper pipe attached below the counter where it is fitted. Your water inlet pipe can be attached to the tail end by soldering, compression fittings or push fit fitments.
Can this be fitted to a quartz, slate, marble, concrete or granite type worktop?
-No - These are only suitable for wood or laminate tops. This style of tap are fitted from above not from below with a back nut. The counter top would need to take the 6 small drill holes required so are only sold for fitting to wooden counters. We are looking to develop a tap for other types of counters but this is still in the design stage.
How often will I need to polish the tap to keep it shiny and what should I use?
- Copper and brass are metals that naturally tarnish over time if left unpolished. A quick buff up every week or 2 will keep it shiny. We use Brasso wadding to keep our taps shiny. This is available at most supermarkets. Rub some wadding over the taps, let it dry for 15 minutes and buff it off with a yellow duster. If you would prefer the more rustic natural brown patina of copper then leave them unpolished and this colour will develop over time.
When will my order arrive?
-All our taps are made to order with a usual dispatch time of 3-5 days. However, this can occasionally vary as we travel between the UK and France regularly between April-October. Please check the listing for an up-to-date delivery estimate. Contact us via online chat or contact form before buying if your order is urgent as these can also often be sent earlier especially when we are home in the Winter full time. All our taps are posted by Royal Mail Tracked 48 or 24 if urgent.
I have another question or I need some more advice about what tao to buy, can you help?
-Yes we can. These are made by Martin who is a gas engineer and plumber. He is more than happy to answer questions regarding tap size, style and fitting. Please message us via live chat or using the online form.
