Our Favourite French Brocante Shop — A Recent Treasure Hunting Trip
There are some places in France that instantly feel familiar the moment you walk through the door — and this wonderful local brocante shop is exactly that for us. Every time we visit the Somme region, this is one of our very first stops, and somehow we never leave empty-handed.
Packed with vintage furniture, rustic French cupboards, mid-century pieces, old café crockery, mirrors, linens, and the kind of unusual treasures you simply cannot plan to find, it’s one of those magical places where every corner tells a story.
On this recent trip, we spent hours wandering around the displays, spotting beautiful old oak furniture, vintage bentwood chairs, retro décor, French glassware, and charming café cups tucked onto shelves beside old radios and antique cabinets. The atmosphere is exactly what we love about French brocante shopping — relaxed, inspiring, and completely unpredictable.
One of our favourite things about this particular shop is the way everything is displayed. Vintage furniture is styled alongside smaller decorative pieces so beautifully that it gives endless inspiration for rustic interiors, farmhouse kitchens, and eclectic vintage homes. You can easily imagine many of these pieces finding a second life in modern homes, campervan conversions, holiday cottages, or cosy country interiors.
As always, we ended up buying far more than we planned.
The van came home packed with vintage finds ready for cleaning, photographing, and listing. We’ve just got back and are now unpacking everything from the trip — from rustic furniture and decorative accessories to smaller French homewares and one-off brocante treasures.
