Vintage Oyster Plates, French Seafood Plate Set, Glazed Ceramic Tableware (A19)

This is a complete set of 6 vintage French oyster plates with the French makers stamp on the back of each one. These were bought at a traditional French brocante market and will have been used and loved in a French home for many years. They will date from around 1960s if not a little earlier. They are dark brown in colour and are in a good used condition with no cracks, just a couple of casting chips on the underside as show, these are little white chips on the reverse of the plate where it has been rested on the stand for the glazing process. There are some very small nibbles on the side of a couple of the plates as shown but these might also be flaws from the making process. This is the nature of hand made and glazed items and adds to their original character. The plates are a stunning example of mid century design and would add a vintage flair to any kitchen or dining table. They have the usual 6 sections for oysters and the middle section for a lemon wedge.
All our pieces are bought at a traditional French brocante markets, as such all the items we sell are used or vintage and will show signs of a previous life. This is all part of their unique French shabby chic appeal. It is not always possible to show every minor scratch on a photo so if you are looking for new then these may not be for you. Any significant flaws are always highlighted in both photos and descriptions.
