Vintage French Rocking Footstool, Upholstered French Gout Stool (C16)

This is a small French vintage footstool also known as a gout stool. These were traditionally used to aid gout as it raises the legs and the rocking movement helps circulation. This would be a handy little stool in any home and is in a good used condition as shown in the pictures which form part of the description. It has some  wear to the wood sections; the blue  upholstery has no rips; it looks to be like a faux leather (plastic type material) just some indents where something heavy  must have been laid on it. This dates from around 1970s if not a little earlier and would be best described as rustic and a little basic. It would add a French retro flair to any home.
All the items we sell are bought from French brocante fairs and flea markets so are used or vintage. They will show signs of a previous life, this is part of their unique French shabby chic appeal - "If you are looking for new, these may not be for you".
