Vintage Copper Pan Set, 4 Saucepans Brand New Tin Lining 2mm, Makers stamp (C91)

This is a stunning set of 4 copper pans made from professional quality 2mm thick copper which are now refurbished with traditional hand wiped, brand new tin lining. A set like this would cost over £140 to be re tinned. These vintage copper pots have a polished finish, the Belgium makers stamp of Vanstahl and chunky copper rivets securing the solid brass handles. The set weighs a hefty 4.2kg. These are in a good condition as shown in the pictures with no dents and traditional hand wiped tin lining; You will be the very first person to cook on this lining giving them a "new to you feel" whilst still embracing the quality that only comes with buying truly vintage pans, not modern reproductions. Hand wiped tin lining is a traditional centuries old method of re tinning copper pans. This method is time consuming but worth the end result. It is not modern electroplated lining and is not meant to look like a completely smooth factory finished piece. Historically, in France and northern Europe, chefs and everyday cooks would have a pan re tinned over the course of its life rather than buy a new one, effectively giving it a new lease of life each time. Copper is an excellent conductor giving an even distribution of heat in a pan, as such, even today it is still favoured by professional chefs around the world. Ideal for use on electric or gas stoves, this saucepan offers both style and practicality for your kitchen. Like all our stock, this set was bought at a French brocante market in the north of France and has been refurbished with pure food grade tin ensuring quality and safety. These pans are ready to use straight away and require no preparation.
