Vintage Brass Turkish Shish Kebab Skewers in a Copper Holder, Kobab Set (B87)

This is a stunning set of vintage Turkish kebab or kabob skewers in a rustic wood and copper holder which can be wall mounted to display this unusual set. These are known as either kebab or kabob skewers. "Kabob" and "kebab" essentially refer to the same dish - grilled meat on a skewer - but the spelling difference primarily reflects regional variations, with "kabob" being more commonly used in areas like Iran and Armenia, while "kebab" is prevalent in Arabic-speaking regions like Lebanon and Syria. 
This charming set has 12 skewers, each with an ornately decorated top, all individual and made from solid brass. The shaft is stainless steel and has Made in Turkey stamped on each one. These are quite long and come with a rustic wood and copper wall mounted storage holder. This may have been original to this vintage set but could have been hand made by the owner, either way this is a lovely piece. It has the look of a quiver in its design with the skewers looking like arrows. This has a some signs of wear and we would describe this as rustic/handmade rather than a factory finished item. There is a hole for securing it to the wall. The body of the holder is made from copper. Whilst Made in Turkey, these were bought at a traditional brocante market in France.
All the items we sell are used or vintage and will show signs of a previous life, this is part of their unique French shabby chic appeal. As such if you looking for something 'new' then this is probably not for you.
