French Vintage Vallauris Pottery Tomato Cruet Set with Tray, Red Majolica (B56

This is a charming Vallauris pottery cruet set complete with a tray, salt and pepper pots as well as a mustard pot (no spoon). This is a rare design of this tomato style with a red tray, they are found in green but rarely red. This majolica set is in a good vintage condition with just some pin head nibbles to the salt pot as shown. This was bought from a traditional French market and would make a lovely gift for any collector of Vallauris pottery or as a quirky set for a country or farmhouse kitchen. Vallauris is a pottery region in south-eastern France, near Cannes. Pottery has been made there since ancient times. The area grew as a pottery centre in the late 19th century, and many companies have flourished there since then.
