French Opaline Glass Coolie Light, Vintage Pendant Suspended Lampshade 40s (C75)

This is a French vintage opaline glass coolie pendant light now up cycled with new twisted vintage style wiring, brass gallery and a new UK standard bulb holder. This is wired for UK electrics and may need re-wiring if you are purchasing this from outside the UK. This vintage suspended pendant light is in a good used condition as shown in the photos with no cracks. It is made from white milk glass with a clear rim known as a pie crust light or coolie light. This is not a factory made shade, it is hand made so may have some bubbles and light marks in the glass from the making process, these are not cracks. There are the usual few nibbles to the top section under the brass fitment. It was bought at a traditional French brocante market. This is not sold with a ceiling rose as the French roses are usually much smaller than standard UK versions. This can be wired straight into an existing rose or a new one which are readily available at any DIY shop. There is a small selection of vintage porcelain roses in the lighting section of the shop.
All the items we sell are used or vintage and will show signs of a previous life, in the case of lights like these this may mean flaws in the glass during the making process, eg. bubbles. This is part of their unique French shabby chic appeal. As such, if you are looking for something 'new' then this is probably not for you.
