French Chef Copper Sugar Pan, Vintage Candy Caramel Pot, Matfer Paris Stamp (A92)

This is a French vintage 2mm copper sugar pan as used by the chef pâtissier in a professional French kitchen, This charming pot has copper rivets to hold the hollow handle to the body and a pouring spout. This traditional pot has character and age and is in a good used condition as shown in the photos. These type of pans are unlined as is the norm for chocolate, sugar and patisserie cookware. The hollow handle is so that, historically, an extended pole could be inserted to enable the baker to use the pan over a fire without standing too close himself. This pan is a professional 2mm thick and has been polished. It is stamped by the maker -  Matfer and can be dated using the style of the stamp to 1967-1972.
