This stunning set of 5 Vintage French Copper Saucepans are made from professional quality 2mm thick copper and have now been refurbished with traditional hand wiped, brand new tin lining. The set includes 5 French vintage copper saucepans weighing a hefty 6.5kg; these are in good condition with no dents. Each pan has a flat base, a cast iron handle secured with chunky copper rivets and traditional hand wiped tin lining; You will be the very first person to cook on this lining giving them a new to you feel whilst still embracing the quality that only comes with buying truly vintage pans, not modern reproductions. Hand wiped tin lining is a traditional centuries old method of re tinning copper pans. This method is time consuming but worth the end result. It is not modern electroplated lining and is not meant to look like a completely smooth factory finished piece. Historically, in France chefs and everyday cooks would have a pan re tinned over the course of its life rather than buy a new one, effectively giving it a new lease of life. Copper is an excellent conductor giving an even distribution of heat in a pan, as such, even today it is still favoured by professional chefs around the world. Ideal for use on electric or gas stoves, these saucepans offer both style and practicality for your kitchen. Like all our stock, these were bought at a French brocante market in the north of France and have been refurbished with pure food grade tin ensuring quality and safety. These pans are ready to use straight away and require no preparation. 
All the items we sell are used or vintage and will show signs of a previous life. This is part of their unique French shabby chic appeal.
