Bespoke Made to Measure Vintage Style Handmade Copper and Brass Kitchen Tap (T53)
Bespoke Made to Measure Vintage Style Handmade Copper and Brass Kitchen Tap (T53)
This is a bespoke, made to measure single vintage style tap (1 tap) which has a chunky 22mm copper pipework and 3/4 inch brass tap head. This kitchen, bathroom or outdoor tap comes supplied with 3 fitting screws and would look fabulous with any Belfast sink or alongside the French copper basin and sinks available on our website. All the taps we sell are rustic in design and do not have aerators so the flow of water is a continuous stream similar to that of an outdoor tap.
FITTING: As this is fixed by screws from the top, not from a nut underneath, it is not suitable for a quartz, slate, marble or granite top. This is suitable for wooden and laminate worktops. Please check with your fitter or message for advice before buying if you are unsure. This has been well made and has a nicely polished finish, it comes as one piece not in separate pieces and does not come apart. This has a 15mm standard UK copper water inlet pipe which is suitable for bathroom basins, kitchen sinks, camper van conversions and outdoor sinks but may not be suitable for some baths which have a different size pipe connection, check before buying if this is for a bath.
DISPATCH TIME can vary as we travel between the UK and France regularly during the Summer months, please check the estimated delivery date for details. This is usually 3-5 working days but can occasionally be a little longer when we are away. If your order is urgent please contact us via live chat or online contact form before purchase for the first available dispatch day as we can often dispatch these more quickly between Oct-March when we are in the UK full time.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can I buy a pair of these taps?
-Yes, for a pair please see the following listing Vintage copper and brass taps pair
I would like to buy more than the number of taps listed as available. Do you have any more than the listing shows?
-Yes we do. We limit the number of taps on each listing in order to keep to our dispatch times but we do have at least 6 of each style of tap ready to make. Please contact us if you want to buy more than the number available and we will increase the listing.
Can this be used as a monobloc mixer tap?
-This is a single feed tap so cannot be used as a monobloc. It can be either hot or cold, but not both.
If the taps is unsuitable, can I return it for a refund?
-This specific listing is for a custom size made to measure tap which is made specifically to your own measurements therefore they are generally not refundable. However, if you are having a problem with suitability please feel free to contact us and we will always do our best to help resolve any problems or give advice before buying.
The measurements available are not suitable for me, can the taps be made any taller?
-These taps can be made with dimensions taller than this, please see out extra tall custom sizes on the following link Bespoke Size XL option
Do you sell any other style of copper and brass taps?
-Yes we do. See our website shop where you will find 4 or 5 different styles including single and pairs of pillar taps, more wall mounted taps as well as a beautiful mixer tap in copper and brass. www.allthingsfrenchstore.com
What size is this tap?
-Please see measurements on the photographs in the listing for exact sizes. If your sizes are not listed, please contact us and we do our best to accommodate your requirements
What size is the water inlet pipework for this tap?
-All our taps have the standard 15mm water inlet pipework, this is the pipe below the countertop where the water is connected. Whilst this has exposed 22mm pipework, the inlet is still 15mm.
Can this tap be fitted directly into a basin or sink?
-No, this tap does not fit into basin or sink pre cast holes. This is designed to fit onto a countertop. This is fitted by screwing the brass base into the top of the counter from above using the screws provided. This is not fitted using a back nut.
Is this suitable for a bath?
-This tap will be suitable for some baths, although this style is generally sold for basins and sinks as it has a water inlet pipe which is a 15mm diameter. Some baths, particularly in older houses have a water inlet pipe of 22mm. Please check with your plumber or fitter if you are unsure of your pipe size if you are buying for a bath, or message us for advice.
Can the taps you sell be fitted in a shepherds hut?
-Yes, all out taps can be fitted in a shepherds hut, we have sold many of these for camper vans, shepherds huts and horse box conversions. NB. Camper van pipework is usually smaller than standard 15mm so you will need to use a reducing fitting to join this to the inlet pipe. These are readily available at any plumbers or DIY merchant.
Can I use your taps as outdoor taps?
-Yes, all the taps we sell are suitable for outdoor use.
How do I connect this to my water inlet?
- This is sold as complete tap fitting which has the standard UK 15mm copper pipe attached below the counter where it is fitted. Your water inlet pipe can be attached to the tail end by soldering, compression fittings or push fit fitments.
Can this tap be fitted to a quartz, slate or marble type counter top?
-No, it cannot be fitted to this type of worktop as it is fitted from above and these type of countertops would not take the 3 small drill holes required. We are looking to develop a tap for these types of counters but this is still in the design stage.
How often will I need to polish my tap to keep it shiny and what should I use?
- Copper and brass are metals that naturally tarnish over time if left unpolished. A quick buff up every week or 2 will keep it shiny. We use Brasso wadding to keep our taps shiny. This is available at most supermarkets. Rub some wadding over the taps, let it dry for 15 minutes and buff it off with a yellow duster. If you would prefer the more rustic natural brown patina of copper then leave them unpolished and this colour will develop over time.
When will my order arrive?
-All our taps are made to order with a usual dispatch time of 3-5 days. However, this can occasionally vary as we travel between the UK and France regularly between April-October. Please check the listing for an up-to-date delivery estimate. Contact us before buying if your order is urgent as these can also often be sent earlier especially when we are home in the Winter full time. All our taps are posted by Royal Mail Tracked 48 or 24 if urgent.
I have another question or I need some more advice about what tap to buy, can you help?
-Yes we can. These are made by Martin who is a gas engineer and plumber. He is more than happy to answer questions regarding tap size, style and fitting. Please message us via live chat or using the online form
