Vintage Style Copper and Brass Wall Mounted Kitchen Tap, Traditional Bathroom Wall Tap (T49)
Vintage Style Copper and Brass Wall Mounted Kitchen Tap, Traditional Bathroom Wall Tap (T49)
This is a single copper and brass wall mounted tap with copper pipework and a chunky brass tap head. This brass and copper tap is made from a chunkier 3/4 inch tap and with 22mm copper, are supplied with 3 fitting screws and would look fabulous with any Belfast sink or alongside the French copper bathroom and kitchen basin sinks in our online shop. All the taps we sell are rustic in design and do not have aerators so the flow of water is a continuous stream similar to that of an outdoor tap.
🚰 FITTING: All our wall mounted taps are fitted by screwing onto the front of the wall, these do not come apart, they are a sold as a complete soldered unit and you will need full access to the pipes behind your wall to fit this as they do not come apart, so please be sure you can fit this to the wall in this way or check with your plumber or ourselves before buying. NB. This tap is suitable for standard UK kitchen sinks and bathroom basins. It may not be suitable for some baths as bath water inlet pipes are not always 15mm, check with your plumber first if you are buying this for a bath. This can be made to measure at no extra cost, please see the custom size made to measure section of our website shop.

❓FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS❓
Can I buy this as a pair?
-Yes, for a pair please see listing - pair of wall taps
If this is unsuitable, can I return it?
-Yes, this can be returned if it is unsuitable as long as it is in original condition and unfitted. However, as a small business that makes all our taps to order, they are not an item we stock, we would appreciate careful measurements before ordering in order to keep our losses to a minimum. If you are having a problem with suitability please feel free to contact us through the online contact form or live chat and we will always do our best to help resolve any problems or give advice before buying.
These measurements available are not suitable for me, can the tap be made any longer or shorter?
-Yes, for a custom size tap please see listing here - custom size option
Do you sell any other style of copper and brass taps?
-Yes we do. See the tap section of our website where you will find 4 or 5 different styles including single and pairs of pillar taps, more wall mounted taps as well as a beautiful mixer tap in copper and brass.
What size is the tap?
-Please see measurements on the photographs in the listing for exact sizes.
What size is the water inlet pipework for this tap?
-All our taps have the standard 15mm water inlet pipework, this is the pipe behind the wall where the water is connected. Although these have exposed 22mm chunky pipework, the inlet is still 15mm.
Can this be fitted directly into a basin or sink?
-No, these type of taps do not fit into basin or sink pre cast holes. They are designed to fit into a wall. They are fitted by screwing the brass base into the wall using the screws provided. They are not fitted using a back nut.
Can this be used as a monobloc mixer tap?
-No, this is a single feed tap which can be either cold or hot but not both.
Is this suitable for a bath?
-This tap will be suitable for some baths, although this style is generally sold for basins and sinks as it has a water inlet pipe which is a 15mm diameter. Some baths, particularly in older houses have a water inlet pipe of 22mm. Please check with your plumber or fitter if you are unsure of your pipe size if you are buying for a bath, or message us for advice.
Can your taps be fitted in a shepherds hut?
-Yes tall our taps can be fitted in a shepherds hut, we have sold many of these for camper vans, shepherds huts and horse box conversions. NB. Camper van pipework is usually smaller than standard 15mm so you will need to use a reducing fitting to join this to the inlet pipe. These are readily available at any plumbers or DIY merchant.
Can I use your taps outside?
-Yes, all the taps we sell are suitable for outdoor use.
How do I connect this to my water inlet?
- All our wall mounted taps are fitted by screwing onto the front of the wall, none of our wall taps come apart. They are sold as a complete soldered unit and you will need full access to the pipes behind your wall to fit these style of taps as they do not come apart, so please be sure you can fit your tap to the wall in this way or check with your plumber or ourselves before buying. Your water inlet pipe can be attached to the tail end by soldering, compression fittings or push fit fitments.
Can this be fitted as a direct replacement for my existing wall mounted tap?
- Probably not. These style of taps are made to be fitted from the front on walls where existing access behind is available, this is usually where a house is having a refit or a new build rather than as a direct swap. They are designed and supplied as complete units already soldered together, as such can only be fitted from the front of the wall. This means that to connect your water supply you will need full access to the wall behind where the tap is to be fitted. These do not come apart and cannot be fitted to copper pipe protruding from an existing wall. The water inlet pipe must be connected behind the wall. Please check with your fitter or message for advice before buying if you are unsure.
How often will I need to polish my tap to keep it shiny and what should I use?
- Copper and brass are metals that naturally tarnish over time if left unpolished. A quick buff up every week or 2 will keep it shiny. We use Brasso wadding to keep our taps shiny. This is available at most supermarkets. Rub some wadding over the taps, let it dry for 15 minutes and buff it off with a yellow duster. If you would prefer the more rustic natural brown patina of copper then leave them unpolished and this colour will develop over time.
When will my order arrive?
-All our taps are made to order with a usual dispatch time of 5 working days after purchase. Please contact us via the contact form or live chat before buying if your order is urgent as these can also often be sent earlier depending on demand.
I have another question or I need some more advice about what tap to buy, can you help?
-Yes we can. All our taps are made by Martin who is a gas engineer and plumber. He is more than happy to answer questions regarding tap size, style and fitting. Please message us via the website contact form or live chat in the first instance as we are often in a noisy workshop or in France so cannot always hear a phone. We are happy to arrange a call back if you feel this would best suit you.
