Antique Copper Curved Stomach Warmer or Back Warmer circa 1910 (A86)

This is a really unusual antique curved copper hot water bottle designed to be used on a stomach. Similar slimline bottles like this were also designed for the small of the back often used by outdoor hunters and workers to add the extra warmth to a cold day. This one is likely specifically for the stomach as it does not have the belt clip hoops found on the back versions. These stomach ones are rarer and harder to find, especially still in tact and leak free. This has been polished and has the French makers stamp on the front as well as a brass stopper and decoration. It holds 600ml of water and could still be used today wrapped in a cloth for safety. As rubber hot water bottles were invented these fell out of fashion but this would make a quirky decorative piece and would certainly be a conversation starter! Bought at a brocante fair in France this likely dates from 1900-1920 maybe a little earlier. It is in a good used condition with no leaks so could actually be used as it was intended.
