Vintage Glass Ceiling Light for Living Room, French Pendant Hanging Lamps (A67)

This a vintage milk glass ceiling light ideal for a living room, hallway or bedroom giving an authentic French style. This white pendant hanging lamp is known as an opaline or pie crust light and is a genuine vintage French shade which has been upcycled with new brass fittings and antique style twisted wiring. This was bought from a traditional French brocante market as is all our stock, although this one is made from Slovakian glass for the French consumer, as was common when these were made around 1940s. This is in a good vintage condition with just the usual nibbles to the area under the brass top section, known as a gallery. This is supplied with a 50-55cm twisted fabric vintage style wire, the brass bulb holder fitting a standard UK bayonet bulb and the brass gallery. This is not sold with a ceiling rose as the French roses are usually much smaller than standard UK versions. This can be wired straight into an existing rose or a new one which are readily available at any DIY shop. There is a small selection of vintage porcelain roses in the lighting section of the shop.
All the items we sell are used or vintage and will show signs of a previous life, in the case of lights like these this may mean flaws in the glass during the making process, eg. bubbles; these are not cracks or damage, just signs of the historical age of these 1940s lights.
