French Vintage Enamel Steam Inhaler, Vintage Medical Collectible 1920s (B14)

This is a lovely and very useful old French enamel inhaler, made up of two separate parts. This is used by placing the water in the bottom handled dish, then herbs, vapour rub or essential oils can be placed into the water. The upper part would then be placed on top and the nose and mouth gets pressed into the opening from where the steam now gets inhaled. The steam is more direct this way and goes straight into the airwaves. A modern version of these collectible pieces are common place in pharmacies and are still very handy to clear your nose when you have a cold. The top part has 6 holes which is part of the design to allow air to enter as you inhale. This was purchased at a traditional French brocante market as is all our stock and it would look great in any farmhouse or country style home as either a decorative piece, or for use. It is sold in a used and vintage condition with some loss of enamel on keeping with it 100+ year age.
