Pair of French Rustic Emile Henry Escargot Plates, Vintage Snail Pots, Egg Plates (A14)

This is a pair of vintage Emile Henry escargot serving plates with a handles and the makers stamp on the base. These vintage dishes are made from a brown colour ceramic stoneware with a creamy coloured inside and hold 12 escargots each (snails). These could be used for cooking and serving snails; these are often also used for quails egg dishes. This pair was purchased at a traditional French brocante market and would suit a retro style kitchen, farmhouse kitchen or would be great in a French restaurant or bistro. They are in a good used condition as shown in the pictures which form part of the description, with a couple of very small nibbles to the handles, usual for these older ceramic pieces and barley noticeable.
