This is a beautiful single (one tap) vintage style copper and brass tap, handmade and water pressure tested. This is made with quite a small tap head, ideally suitable for a small basin perhaps in a cloakroom or camper van. This was made to a shorter height than our usual pillar taps so would particularly suit an area where height space is an issue, eg. camper vans. This was a cancelled order so it is only available in the measurements below and is sold at a lower price than our usual taps due to its short size. This cannot be made to measure, (see our other listings for made to measure taps like this in custom sizes), it is sold as a one off at this size. This tap has an industrial rustic feel with copper pipework and a brass tap head and is supplied with 3 fitting screws.

All the taps we sell are rustic in design and do not have aerators, so the flow of water is a continuous stream similar to that of an outdoor tap.

FITTING: This is fixed by screws from the top, not from a nut underneath, it may not be suitable for a quartz, granite, marble, slate top; it is suitable for wooden and laminate worktops. Please check with your fitter or message for advice before buying if you are unsure. This handmade tap has been well made and has a nicely polished finish. If you prefer the more natural patina of copper and brass then this can be achieved by leaving your tap unpolished, over time it will darken to the natural brown copper colour. This is made using a small tap head with 15mm standard UK fittings which is suitable for bathroom basins, small kitchen sinks and camper van conversions but may not be suitable for baths due to their small size. In addition, most baths have a different size pipe connection; check with your plumber first if you are buying for a bath and check the measurements.

DISPATCH TIME for this is next working day as it was a cancelled order so is already made. All our other taps have a 3-5 day dispatch time. See the tap section of our online shop for a wide selection of tap styles as well as copper basins and sinks up cycled from French copper jam pans and bowls. See the FAQ section below for the most common queries about our taps.

Total height including tap head (excluding fittings below) 20cm
Total measurement from tap outlet to base of tap fitment 12cm
Outlet projection from pipe centre to tap outlet centre 11cm

15mm tail connection (water inlet pipe) suitable for standard UK kitchen sinks and bathroom basins. This may not be suitable for some baths as bath water inlet pipes are not always 15mm, check with your plumber first if you are buying this for a bath.

Free postage is by Royal mail for mainland UK, NI and includes Scottish Highlands and Islands. Unfortunately, international postage is not available on this item.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I would like a pair of these, do you have 2?
-Yes we do, please see listing Vintage Style Brass and Copper Sink Taps – All Things French Store

These measurements are not suitable for me, can the tap be made to my own measurements?
-This tap is sold at a reduced price as it is a cancelled order so the size cannot be changed. We sell this as a made to measure tap in the copper sinks and taps section of our shop. See listing Antique Style Copper and Brass Bathroom or Kitchen Taps – All Things French Store

Can this tap be used as a monobloc mixer tap?
- Unfortunately, this cannot be used as a mixer tap. It is single feed, so it can be hot or cold, but not both.

Do you sell any other style of copper and brass taps?
-Yes we do. See the Copper sinks and taps section of our shop where you will find 4 or 5 different styles as well as a beautiful mixer tap in copper and brass.

Can I return this if it is not suitable?
We do accept returns on all orders except made to measure custom taps. However, we would encourage you to check the measurements carefully and ask questions before buying if you are unsure in order to keep our losses as a small business to a minimum.

What size is this tap?
-This tap has a small tap head and is shorter than our usual taps and so would be best suited to a smaller basin or sink, it may be too small for some kitchen sinks, see measurements on the photographs for exact sizes.

The tap head is too small for my requirements, do you sell any chunkier taps?
-Yes we do, this tap is available in a chunkier 3/4 inch size version which has thicker 22mm pipe rather than the standard 15mm. See listing Vintage Style Handmade Copper and Brass Kitchen Tap, Belfast Sink Tap. Bathroom Tap – All Things French Store

What size is the water inlet pipework for this tap?
-All our taps have the standard 15mm water inlet pipework, this is the pipe below the countertop where the water is connected.

Can this be be fitted directly into a basin or sink?
-No, this does not fit into basin or sink pre cast holes. This is designed to fit onto a countertop. This is fitted by screwing the brass base into the top of the counter from above using the screws provided. This is not fitted using back nuts.

Is this suitable for a bath?
-This will be suitable for some baths, although this style is generally sold for basins and sinks firstly because the tap head is too small for a bath and secondly as it has a water inlet pipe which is 15mm. Some baths, particularly in older houses have a water inlet pipe of 22mm. Please check with your plumber or fitter if you are unsure of your pipe size if you are buying for a bath.

Can this be be fitted to a quartz, slate or marble type counter top?
-No, unfortunately this style of tap cannot be fitted to this type of worktop as it is fitted from above and these type of countertops would not take the small drill holes required. We are looking to develop taps for these types of counters but this is still in the design stage.

Can the taps you make be fitted in a camper van?
-Yes all the taps we sell can be fitted in a camper van, we have sold many of these for camper van and horse box conversions. Camper van pipework is usually smaller than standard 15mm so you will need to use a reducing fitting to join to the inlet pipe. These are readily available at any plumbers or DIY merchant.

Can I use the taps you make as outdoor taps?
-Yes, all the taps we sell are suitable for outdoor use.

How do I connect this to my water inlet under my sink or basin?
-This is sold as complete tap fitting which has the standard UK 15mm copper pipe attached below the counter where it is fitted. Your water inlet pipe can be attached to the tail end by soldering, compression fitting or push fit fitment.

How often will I need to polish this to keep it shiny and what should I use?
- Copper and brass are metals that naturally tarnish over time if left unpolished. A quick buff up every week or 2 will keep them shiny. We use Brasso wadding to keep our taps shiny. This is available at most supermarkets. Rub some wadding over the taps, let it dry for 15 minutes and buff it off with a yellow duster. If you would prefer the more rustic natural brown patina of copper then leave them unpolished and this colour will develop over time.

When will my order arrive?
-As these taps are a cancelled order they are ready to dispatch by Royal Mail Tracked 48 the next working day after purchase.

I have another question or I need some more advice about what tap to buy, can you help?
-Yes we can. These are made by Martin who is a gas engineer and plumber. He is more than happy to answer questions regarding tap size, style and fitting.  We are often out of the country or in a noisy workshop so rarely hear the phone. The quickest way to contact us is through the website live chat (you will be speaking to a real person, either Martin or Louise, not a chat bot!) or our online contact form. If you would like a call back please leave your contact details. Alternatively, leave a message on our answerphone at 01772 494985 and we will call you back.
