Vintage French Copper Frying Pan, 20cm with Brand New Tin Lining 3mm 2kg (B38)

This stunning Vintage French Copper Frying pan is made from professional quality 3mm thick copper, has the Made in France stamp and has now been refurbished with traditional hand wiped, brand new tin lining. A pan this size would cost around £70 to be re tinned. This French vintage copper pot has chunky copper rivets securing the cast iron handle. It weighs 2kg; quite heavy for a pan this size. This deep frying pan or saute pan is in good condition as shown in the pictures. This has a flat base and traditional hand wiped tin lining; You will be the very first person to cook on this lining giving this pot a "new to you feel" whilst still embracing the quality that only comes with buying truly vintage pans, not modern reproductions. Hand wiped tin lining is a traditional centuries old method of re tinning copper pans. This method is time consuming but worth the end result. It is not modern electroplated lining and is not meant to look like a completely smooth factory finished piece. Historically, in France chefs and everyday cooks would have a pan re tinned over the course of its life rather than buy a new one, effectively giving it a new lease of life each time. Copper is an excellent conductor giving an even distribution of heat in a pan, as such, even today it is still favoured by professional chefs around the world. Ideal for use on electric or gas stoves, this saucepan offers both style and practicality for your kitchen. Like all our stock, this was bought at a French brocante market in the north of France and has been refurbished with pure food grade tin ensuring quality and safety. This pan is ready to use straight away and requires no preparation.
