This is a traditional 0.5 litre German beer stein made of a glazed ceramic, possibly porcelain. These are usually made from fairly rough stoneware, this one has a glossy, better quality finish with a charming decoration of hops surrounding the writing. The writing on the front reads Im himmel gibts kein bier drum trinken mir es hier which translate in German to There's no beer in heaven, so we'll drink it here. It is traditionally used for lager or Weißbier. These are usually bought at German beer festivals. Perfect for enjoying your favourite beer in a classic style. This would be ideal for any home bar or garden pub. This is in very good condition with no chips or cracks; it holds 0.5 litre.
This was bought at a traditional French brocante market, as is all our stock. All the items we sell are used or vintage and will show signs of a previous life. This is part of their unique French shabby chic appeal.
