This small vintage French taxidermy stoat/weasel/ermine type animal (not sure which) is a lovely example of amateur craftsmanship and natural wildlife art, however it is sold for repair as it has some damage, see below. Displayed on a rustic wooden mount, this specimen has a simple fairly rudimentary appeal with some wear and deterioration common with these type of vintage pieces -this has a small hole to the back as shown - this is reflected in the price. Ideal for collectors or as a unique statement piece in any eclectic home, this taxidermy specimen would be ideal for a restorer. This taxidermy specimen was bought from a traditional French brocante market and is designed to be freestanding; it is in a fairly well used condition for its 50+ year age
CONDITION- as shown in the photos with the usual signs of wear and tear, nibbles to the ears and a hole to the back. THIS IS REFLECTED IN THE PRICE. It has the usual musty aroma of most French pieces which have often been stored away in garages or in smoky homes - just needs a little airing out.
